Awning Spruce Up – Recover and Refresh Ready For The Summer Sun

How do you know your awning needs some attention? You may notice your awning cover has begun to fade, has discolouration, outdated designs or mismatched colours. Sometimes we don’t have the budget to purchase a brand new product, and with a sun awning, you don’t always have to!

Here’s some tips on how to give your sun awning some TLC:

• If your awning fabric needs a clean, a simple wipe down with soapy water is often enough to remove superficial stains. Please do not use detergents, high-pressure cleaners or rub down for hours. At the end of summer, we recommend you take the time to dry your awning before rolling it away, so as to avoid mould. To deep clean your awning fabric, we recommend using the Tex’activ cleaner.
• If you don’t want the hassle of cleaning down your fabric, or maybe you’ve got as much use out of your cover as possible, there’s always the option of an awning recover with a new fabric but reusing the cassette! Here at AMO, we can also do this for you, making it completely hassle free for you!

Wanting to give it a go yourself? DIY is good for minor repairs or quick clean-ups and simple fabric recovers if you have the right tools. We recommend calling a pro when you experience any mechanism issues with the motorised awnings, any large scale recover projects or if you don’t have the experience and tools to give it a go.
